Adventure Tours in Kampot

Explore the Spice of Life in Kampot.

Kampot’s primary attraction is its relaxing riverside setting and street rimmed by dilapidated shophouse architecture. While there is a sizable town set back from the river, most visitors will spend most of their time enjoying the river and the local countryside.

The most impressive sights in Kampot are the river and surrounding hills, which grandly frame views from the riverside promenade. Kampot retains many of its colonial buildings and there are several interesting old structures in various states of repair.

The Heart of Cambodian Countryside.

Not too far from Kampot is Bokor National Park. Officially named Preah Monivong National Park, it is one of two national parks in Cambodia to be awarded the title of the Association for Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Heritage Park.

The dense rainforests of this 1581 square kilometer park, shelter an incredible array of wildlife, including the Asiatic black bear, Malayan sun bear and the clouded leopard. Elephants and tigers once roamed here, but the tigers were driven out long ago and the elephants are thought to have migrated north.

Trekking through the park is quite popular, and nearby is Popokvil Waterfall –– a two-tiered waterfall separated by a natural pool. Although they are too shallow to swim in, the waterfall is a great place to relax and unwind away from the crowds.
