Vietnam

From the misty mountains of the north to the lush rice fields of the Mekong Delta, Vietnam is a beguiling destination which rarely fails to charm.

The epic landscapes, delightful cuisine and tropical climate are perhaps the biggest draw to the country, but it is often the warm, inquisitive and positive welcome of its people that remain the abiding memory of those who spend time in this alluring country.

For adventure travellers, Vietnam has it all. Northern Vietnam boasts the headline-grabbing spots of Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa, and Ninh Binh, but trekking and biking through the stunning scenery of Mai Chau, Ha Giang and Pu Luong provide equally awe-inspiring experiences, especially combined with local market visits and homestays.

Vietnam - Something for Everyone

Central Vietnam, home to the cultural capitals of Hue & Hoi An, offers a range of stunning coastal walks and rides, as well as the lesser visited highlands around Da Lat.

Ho Chi Minh City, proof that Vietnam is Southeast Asia’s finest example of the convergence of old and new, plays the part of the hub for activity in southern Vietnam, with access to the idyllic Mekong Delta.

With such a wide range of activities on offer, awesome landscapes, and some of the most hospitable people around, Vietnam is sure to leave a lasting, brilliant impression on every visitor.

Which month is best for a Vietnam tour?

The best month to visit for a Vietnam tour depends on the regions you plan to visit. The country is more than 1,600 kms long and ranges from a temperate climate in the north to a tropical climate in the south. While Vietnam is a year-round destination, the most popular times to visit are spring (Feb to Apr) and autumn (Aug to Oct). During these periods, temperatures are moderate and there is less rain. During other parts of the year, tropical monsoons bring heavy rains and extreme temperatures, especially in the south, make the summer days extremely hot and humid.

In Northern Vietnam, there are four seasons with a hot summer and cold winter. The temperatures range from 5˚C in the winter to 35˚C in the summer. The most popular time to visit is during the cold season which lasts from December to February as you'll likely have clear skies and low humidity.

In central Vietnam, October to December is the wet season and the area is prone to flooding. The best time to visit is during February to August where the temperatures are hot, but there is little chance of rain.

Southern Vietnam is a tropical area and has two distinct seasons, the dry season, and the rainy season. The best time to visit is between November and April where the reasonable temperatures and the relatively low humidity make it a comfortable environment for most travelers.
