Upon your arrival at Yangon International airport, be picked up by our representative. Free day at leisure or you can explore Yangon old center.
After a short flight to Bagan we will begin birding right away amongst the ancient temples, looking for some of the endemic species to this region such as the Burmese Bushlark and Jerdon’s Minivet amongst many others, our guides know the best places to find them. Take an afternoon rest before heading out early evening.
Spend the early hours of daylight around Bagan searching for other bird species. This afternoon take a private boat along the Ayeyarwaddy River to spot more river based species such as white–throated kingfishers, Sand lark and Ruddy Shelduck. After a stunning sunset head back to your hotel to relax for the evening.
Today we drive to Kanpetlet making stops for morning birding at key sites as we go. After a successful morning we stop for lunch at Kangyi Village before continuing to Kanpetlet. Our accommodation tonight is in a mine forest allowing for further chances to see a different range of bird species as the sun in the early evening light.
These 4 days of birding around Mount Victoria are the highlight of the tour. We will undertake extensive birding trips around the area on foot with transfers where required. Picnic lunches will be provided on the trails or at a local restaurant. There is such an abundance of species of in this area that you will be able to spot a wide variety of uncommon species. If you are lucky, you will see Blyth’s Tragopan, Kalij Pheasant, Hodgson’s Frogmouth, and many other Partridges and Nightjars as well as migratory winter visitors.
After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and drive back to Bagan. On the way, our guide will suggest to make some birding stops further species. Lunch on the way at a local restaurant. In the evening, arrive in Bagan and enjoy an evening at leisure at your hotel.
Today we embark on an exploration of the temples of Bagan and break up the birding with some sightseeing. Visit the colourful vegetable market in the early morning before heading out in to the temple strewn valley. Visit some of the most beautiful temples before enjoying the unmissable sunset. Of course as we go our expert guide will be keeping an eye out for bird species, with today’s flexible itinerary you can mix sightseeing and birding as you wish.
After a leisurely morning at Bagan, transfer for your flight to Heho. On your arrival at the airport, your guide will pick you up and proceed to Kalaw by car. You can do half day birding on the way to Kalaw, our stop for the night.
Today will be full day birding around Kalaw with picnic lunch. Today is another highlight of the tour and we will are very likely to see spices such as Dark–backed Sibia, Burmese Yuhina, Indochinese Black–winged Cuckooshrikes and Giant Nuthatch amongst others. After a great day birding relax at your hotel of explore Kalaw town.
A change of pace today as we head to Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp in the morning where you can wash the elephants in the river. We then explore the nearby conserved forest area for birds before further interaction with the magnificent Pachyderms. Later, aid in local conservation efforts by planting a tree.
After breakfast at the hotel, start drive to Inle Lake. On the way, we will make one or two birding stops. After about 3 hours driving, you will be in Inle Lake and take a boat to start birding on the lake.

Today we head out by private boat on to the majestic Inle Lake for a full day’s birding with the aim to spot many of the key species on the lake such as Rufous–rumped Grassbird and Sarus Crane. After a great day of birding head back to your hotel to relax for the evening by the lake.
After a leisurely morning at the lake, check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Yangon. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in Yangon. After lunch, check in at your hotel and enjoy an afternoon at your leisure.
In the early morning, drive to Maupin. We will have lunch on the way and take in some birding along the way. Our target species are Black – Headed Ibis, Sarus Crane, Pelican, Striated Babbler, Jerdon”s Babbler, Asia Golden Weaver and other species. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and night stop at a Guest House in Pandanaw.
After early breakfast at a small restaurant, we will start our birding again to try and identify the rest of the species. We will have our lunch on the way back to Yangon. In the evening, we will arrive at the hotel in Yangon.
Today will be spent in Hlawgar Park in Yangon. Our target species of the day are Striped Throated Bulbul, Black headed Bulbul, Black Crested Bulbul and Pitta amongst others. It’s great to know there are an abundance of species living within the city limits. Tonight go for a farewell dinner to end a great trip.
Today is free at leisure until your departure flight, however if there is time you may wish to make a trip to the world famous gold clad Shwedagon Pagoda and visit the old colonial buildings along the riverfront downtown, who knows you may even spot a couple of additional bird species hidden in the city.
