Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, we will meet you and transfer you to hotel for your overnight stay.
We will pick you up and transfer you to Sandakan Jetty for one hour boat journey to Selingan Island. Check-in into chalet and spend the day at leisure, swimming or snorkeling. After dinner, you will be divided into small groups while waiting for the signal from the park ranger for the appropriate time to see the green turtle lay eggs on the beach. You will also have the opportunity to witness the eggs being transferred to hatchery from the nesting site and the release of the baby turtles onto the shore. Overnight at the island chalet.

Depart to the mainland after breakfast and proceed to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch a short video documentary of the rehabilitation activities before taking a boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at 1000hrs. Thereafter visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about conservation of the world’s smallest bear.
After lunch, transfer to Sandakan jetty for 21/2 hours boat journey to the multi awards winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Kinabatangan River (Sabah’s longest), with opportunity to view birds and wildlife in virgin mangrove, wetland and rainforest habitats. After check-in and afternoon refreshment, we take a river cruise using electric motor in search of some of the 10 primate species. Sukau is home to Borneo pygmy elephants, orang utans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbills in Borneo.
Return for solar heated hot shower, candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank followed by slide show and interpretation by naturalist guide. Overnight in Sukau Rainforest Lodge, in 2015 awarded by National Geographic as one of the “Unique Lodges of the World”.
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills and hot Sabah tea. A 0600hrs morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour on our own in-house Hornbill Boardwalk located behind the lodge with our in-house naturalist. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge.
After breakfast, return to Sandakan by boat journey. Visit Sandakan War Memorial and proceed to Rainforest Discovery Centre. Take a birdseye view of the centre from the canopy walk and hanging bridge before exploring the botanical garden, home to various species of flora. We will then transfer you to Sepilok area for your overnight stay.
Spend your day at leisure at Sepilok area.
We leave the East coast and Sandakan behind us and drive inland towards the massive Mount Kinabalu. Your overnight accommodation will be at The Hill Lodge which is located inside the Kinabalu Park. Relax in your hotel or you may opt to walk around the park for self-exploration.
Transfer to Timpohon gate to start climbing Mount Kinabalu for approximately 4-6 hour to Laban Rata at 3272 meter above the sea level. Take your time to enjoy the colorful rhododendrons, pitcher plants, wild orchids and other interesting vegetation along the trail. Overnight in Mountain hut dormitory room.
Items to bring: sun block lotion, personal toiletries, good walking/trekking shoes, windbreaker, towel, torchlight, waterproof gloves, raincoat, water bottle, energy food, personal medical kit including headache table and paracetamol for altitude sickness.
Start climbing at 2.00 a.m. to reach the summit by dawn (Low’s Peak, 4,095M) to catch the sunrise at 6 a.m. Enjoy a breathtaking view from the peak before returning to the mountain hut for breakfast. Descend to the Park Headquarters afterward. Have an afternoon tea break before returning to Kota Kinabalu. Your accommodation tonight will be in a beach resort.

Transfer out to Kota Kinabalu airport for departure flight.
