Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, we will meet and transfer you to hotel for your overnight stay.
We will pick you up and transfer you to Sandakan Jetty for one hour boat journey to Selingan Island. Check-in into chalet and spend the day at leisure, swimming or snorkeling. After dinner, you will be divided into small groups while waiting for the signal from the park ranger for the appropriate time to see the green turtle lay eggs on the beach. You will also have the opportunity to witness the eggs being transferred to hatchery from the nesting site and the release of the baby turtles onto the shore. Overnight at the island chalet.

Depart to the mainland after breakfast and proceed to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch a short video documentary of the rehabilitation activities before taking a boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at 1000hrs. Thereafter visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about conservation of the world’s smallest bear.
After lunch, transfer to Sandakan jetty for 21/2 hours boat journey to the multi awards winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah’s longest river, Kinabatangan with opportunity to view birds and wildlife in virgin mangrove, wetland and rainforest habitats. After check-in and afternoon refreshment, we take a river cruise using electric motor in search of some of the 10 primate species. Sukau is home to Borneo pygmy elephants, orang utans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbills in Borneo.
Return for solar heated hot shower, candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank followed by slide show and interpretation by naturalist guide. Overnight in Sukau Rainforest Lodge, in 2015 awarded by National Geographic as one of the “Unique Lodges of the World”.
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills and hot Sabah tea. A 0600hrs morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour on our own in-house Hornbill Boardwalk located behind the lodge with our in-house naturalist. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge.
Today, you will be transferred by overland journey to Lahad Datu. We continue drive for 70km on gravel road to Danum Valley. The area covers a sprawling 438 square kilometer undisturbed area of lowland dipterocarp rainforest in Sabah. Have your first introduction of the forest in the afternoon through “Nature Trails” for a close-up observation of the rainforest. Danum Valley is home to many species of Borneo’s unique lowland fauna such as the Clouded Leopards, Sumatran Rhinoceros, Pygmy Elephants and Orang Utans. After dinner, proceed for a night walk/drive in search of nocturnal animals. Overnight in Danum Valley.
Spend the whole day exploring the rainforest for more chances of spotting birds and mammals. Today’s activity will bring you through a selective trails inside the rainforest. Return to the lodge for lunch. Another jungle trekking in the afternoon. A night walk after dinner for more wildlife watching experience. Overnight in Danum Valley.
Depart Danum Valley to return to Lahad Datu to catch the afternoon flight to Kota Kinabalu.
