Day 2: Siem Reap – Kulen Mountain
In the morning our 4WD team will meet you at the hotel to give a short briefing about the car and the route, and then we drive out of the city towards Kulen Mountain passing through the stunning countryside along the dirt roads, eventually reaching the foot of the mountain where we take a little rest and a drink. After the short break we drive up to the top where we have lunch at a local restaurant before continuing our drive through rural villages, surprising a few locals who sometimes follow the car; we drive on towards Sras Damrei temple then walk the last bit to visit the ‘Elephant Temple’, after which we drive back to the waterfall for a swim before heading back to Siem Reap.
After breakfast, we drive down the hill to Beng Mealea Temple where we have lunch at a local restaurant near the temple. After lunch it’s time to move off-road heading through the forest and mud (in the rainy season it can be very muddy). When we arrive at the temple we will set up the tent and start cooking tonight’s dinner.
