Transfer from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (1,300m) where you start the trek to Chisapani (2,300m). Beyond Sundarijal, the trail starts going uphill all the way through the forest to a medieval looking reservoir continuously, the dam, and water works. After leaving the water supply system of Sundarijal, our hiking trail climbs steeply to the top of Shivapuri ridge, the first village on the trail with the sprawling Tamang settlement which stands at altitude of 1,895m. There are few small tea shops around, where we can rest, have cup of tea and enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley. After that, keep climbing steadily until we enter the Shivapuri National Park which is mostly dense forest of pine and oak trees. We then follow the ridge through the forest of oak and rhododendron to the village of Chisapani where we can enjoy amazing view of the large section of the Himalayan range.
Overnight in the lodge at Chisapani.
