Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Begin your journey in Ho Chi Minh City. Take time to rest at your hotel and adjust to the time difference, with the remainder of the day at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant and savor the delights of Vietnamese cuisine.

Day 2

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Enjoy a captivating full-day city tour, capturing all the highlights and hidden gems. Start your journey with a visit to Dong Khoi Street, or Rue Catinat as it was known during the French occupation, to discover beautiful French colonial buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Appreciate the splendidly restored exteriors of the Opera House, wander up to the Notre Dame Cathedral, then head across the square to the Central Post Office, designed by the French architect Gustave Eiffel. Continue to the former Presidential Palace and City Hall. In the afternoon, drive to the War Remnants Museum for a vivid glimpse of the American war through a local’s eyes. Later, wander through the intriguing streets of Chinatown. Take a refreshing break at a charming street coffee shop, where you can sip on a delicious brew and observe the fascinating daily life of the locals.

Day 3

Saigon to Mui Ne Cycling

After breakfast, travel 4 hours northeast to the coastal town of Mui Ne. In the afternoon, enjoy a half-day cycling trip along a flat route, passing through desert-like landscapes, sand dunes, and scenic coastal views. Overnight at a beach resort in Mui Ne.

Day 4

Mui Ne to Dalat Cycling

Embark on a scenic cycling route from town to Bao Loc, passing through highway 28 with stunning views, rice fields, an ethnic village, and natural wonders. Conclude the cycling adventure in Di Linh before transferring to the enchanting city of Da Lat, known for its picturesque landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, and temperate climate that fosters the growth of vibrant flowers and vegetables.

Day 5

Dalat to Buon Me Thuot Cycling

Depart from Dalat by cycling downhill to Tanung until you reach Lak Lake. Traverse through lush fields of coffee and visit a local hill tribe. Ride past many examples of beautiful wooden houses with piles of coffee beans drying in the sun. Late in the afternoon, you will be transferred to Buon Me Thuot.

Buon Me Thuot to Nha Trang Cycling

Buon Me Thuot is considered the coffee capital of Vietnam. From here, you head out on curvaceous roads, relishing the scenic beauty of undulating hills, coffee plantations, and the Earkrong Buk River. Descend towards the coast, passing Ninh Hoa before reaching the lively holiday town of Nha Trang, where turquoise waters and vibrant fishing boats await.

Nha Trang explorer by bike

Enjoy a half-day of cycling 30 km, through small villages and narrow back roads with periodic stops at points of interest. In the midafternoon, return to Nha Trang to laze on the beach.

Day 8

Tuy Hoa to Quy Nhon Cycling

Travel north to Dai Lanh Beach where you can begin cycling to Tuy Hoa. Pass by quiet villages, rice fields, shrimp farms, salt farms, and coconut palms with stunning costal views. Upon reaching Tuy Hoa, you will be transferred to Quy Nhon where you will spend the night.

Quy Nhon to Quang Ngai cycling

Your cycling today will take you past several small villages and backwaters until you reach Quang Ngai. Once here, you can pay a visit to the My Lai Massacre Museum and stroll along secluded beaches or lively local markets. Overnight in Quang Ngai city.

Quang Ngai to Hoi An Cycling

Transfer to Tam Ky where you will begin your cycling to Hoi An –– the romantic, old Chinese trading post, known for its lantern lined roads and wonderful restaurants. This evening, take a walk around the town at night and discover many vendors offering Hoi An specialties.

Day 11

Hoi An

Enjoy a day of cycling in and around Hoi An. After breakfast, cycle along the Thu Bon River, taking in views of fishing boats and small houses. Continue through Thuan Tinh Ecological Village, passing areca-nut gardens and daily village life. Ride along peaceful trails through coconut palms, fishing farms, and rice paddies to Cua Dai Beach, then visit Cam Thanh fishing village, known for its ocean views and kumquat gardens. On your return, stop at Tra Que village to water plants and enjoy a local lunch. Afterward, explore Hoi An's ancient town with its merchant houses, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, and lively markets. Finally, try your hand at creating a traditional Hoi An lantern.

Day 12

Danang to Hue via Hai Van Pass Cycling

Transfer 30-minutes north to Danang, where you will begin your cycling on a flat road by the beach before tackling the Hai Van Pass (also known as the ‘Pass of the Ocean Clouds’). If you prefer to avoid this, you can always take a lift in the support vehicle. Enjoy a delicious lunch break at Lang Co Beach before reaching Hue, the former capital of Vietnam, where you will spend the night.

Day 13

Hue to Hanoi on overnight train

In the morning, start your cycle ride through Hue, the former imperial capital of the Nguyen Lords. Begin with a short ride to the Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO site, where you'll explore the architecture and gardens while your guide shares the royal court’s history. Despite heavy bombing, many sections remain well-preserved and are under restoration. Ride along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, a magnificent seven-storey structure, then take a ferry to visit Tu Duc Tomb, designed with Feng Shui principles in mind. After lunch at a local restaurant, board a sleeper train to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi.

Hanoi city highlights

Arrive at Hanoi station early in the morning, where our guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel for early check-in and breakfast before a half-day city tour. Explore Hanoi’s charm with its colonial buildings, scenic lakes, and tree-lined boulevards. Start at Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed on Mondays and Fridays, in the afternoons, and from early September to mid-November for maintenance, subject to change), then visit the One Pillar Pagoda, a historic Buddhist temple. Behind the Mausoleum, see Ho Chi Minh’s House, where he lived and worked. Next, visit the Temple of Literature, Hanoi’s first university, before taking a walking tour through the Old Quarter. End the day with a traditional water puppet show. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Hanoi to Ha Long Bay

Your day begins with a hotel pick-up in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, with a quick refreshment stop on the way to Tuan Chau Marina. As you board, enjoy welcome drinks and a delicious lunch, cruising through Ha Long Bay’s breathtaking scenery past iconic spots like Incense Burner and Fighting Cock Islet. In the afternoon, visit the Pearl Farm, where you can kayak in emerald waters, then explore the stunning Sung Sot Cave with its ancient limestone formations. Back on board, unwind during Happy Hour with exclusive deals or treat yourself to a relaxing massage. Start the day with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck, followed by a light breakfast. Visit Titov Island to swim in emerald waters or hike for panoramic views. Return to the cruise to check out and enjoy a leisurely brunch as you sail back. Disembark at Tuan Chau Marina, then transfer back to Hanoi. After checking in to your hotel, refresh before joining your guide for an evening food tour around Hanoi's lively neighborhoods.
